here's the deal, finished my 3rd muay thai Novice fight a month ago via 2nd round knockout and this weekend (saturday) I am going into my first full amateur fight (with elbows). I am really needing help with nerves, getting prepared etc. The only advice my trainer gave me was to try keep it in the back of my mind, and be confident, but i need something to help with the nerves. Any help from any martial artists/fighters or w/e would be really helpful, how do YOU calm the nerves? cheers
lol i do muay thai too but what helps me is not to work hard the night before and relax and do things you really enjoy that are relaxing IE watching a good movie with a gf or stuff like that
I'm a fencer. Before I enter major competitions I watch what I eat a week before (you don't want too many junk or frozen food holding your body back from doing its best) and make sure that I have enough sleep the day before. (not always easy though since you might get over excited or nervous)
As far as calming the nerves go... classical music for me :P but different sport might be different as I would imagine kickboxing to need more aggression.
